What are they?

Both have the same goal, which is to remove fat from a specific part of the patient’s body. The difference is that in lipo HD/LAD, the surgeon will perform the surgery sculpting the patient’s musculature and enhance their natural curves.

Localized fat is a common complaint, as its volume can affect body contouring and, consequently, self-esteem. Therefore, Liposuction is one of the most sought-after surgeries in Dr. Tulio Martins’ pactice.

– Lipo HD/LAD:

Fat is removed from the superficial layer of the abdominal region, highlighting the abdominal muscles and aiming for definition. HD/LAD liposuction can also be combined with Mini-Abdominoplasty. With Mini-Abdominoplasty, we improve a small amount of excess skin, and with HD liposuction, we achieve greater abdominal definition and improve body contouring.

– Traditional Lipo:

Fat is removed from the deepest layer, known as the Lamellar layer, which contains a larger volume of fat. This results in a change in the patient’s body contour. However, we do not focus on the natural curves and musculature of the patient. This type of liposuction is less commonly performed by Dr. Tulio nowadays, given the advancements in more modern techniques.

With Abdominoplasty, we improve excess skin, and with Traditional Liposuction, we enhance body contouring.

Who is this indicated for?

Lipo HD/LAD:

Patients who desire greater abdominal definition combined with a significant improvement in body contour;
Patients with minimal or no skin laxity (in the case of performing liposuction alone);
Patients with a balanced physique (engaged in healthy habits and physical activities).

Traditional Lipo:

Patients who aim for a significant improvement in body contour but do not desire enhanced definition;
Patients with minimal or no skin laxity (in the case of performing liposuction alone).
