Breast augmentation

What is breast augmentation with an implant or fat?

Is a surgical procedure that aims to increase breast volume through the placement of silicone implants or fat grafting. It is typically recommended for cases where there is no sagging or mild sagging of the breasts.

who is this indicated for?

Breast augmentation is recommended for women who are dissatisfied with the size of their breasts, have breasts that are asymmetrical, or for patients who have undergone breast removal due to trauma or diseases such as cancer.

How is breast augmentation performed with an implant or fat grafting?

Before the procedure, blood tests, mammograms, and breast ultrasound should be conducted to ensure the patient is suitable.

In the 30 days leading up to the procedure, the patient should not smoke any type of cigarettes. In the two weeks prior, the use of anti-inflammatory drugs, rheumatic medications, and metabolism accelerators should be avoided. Alcoholic beverages should not be consumed the day before. The patient should fast for 8 hours before the surgery.

The most common method in breast augmentation is the use of silicone implants, which is the most effective and long-lasting approach.

In the case of fat grafting, liposuction is performed on a part of the patient’s body to remove fat. This fat undergoes a preparation and cleansing process and is then injected into the breasts.

Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 45 minutes.

The patient should stay in the hospital for a period of 24 to 48 hours.

Benefits of the procedure

Breast augmentation improves the contour of the breasts, correcting deformities and asymmetries between them, thereby increasing the patient’s self-esteem.

F.A.Q.

Breast augmentation surgery, in general, can be performed two years after the first menstruation when the breasts are fully developed. However, in most cases, we typically wait until the patient is between 16 and 18 years old to undergo the procedure.
Approximately 40% of the fat graft injected during the procedure is reabsorbed within 3 to 6 months, resulting in the final outcome. This absorption process does not occur with silicone implants.
There is no risk of rejection, but there may be infections in a very low percentage, requiring treatment.
After breast augmentation, the patient should wear a surgical bra for one month, avoid heavy physical exercises for 15 days (such as sports and weightlifting), and take analgesics if necessary. It is important to follow all the recommendations provided by your surgeon.
