Septoplasty

What is Septoplasty?

it is a surgery to centralize the nasal septum. It is indicated when the deviation causes nasal obstruction and sinus infections (sinusitis), headache and also reduces symptoms of snoring and sleep apnea.

Who is this indicated for?

It is indicated for people who are dissatisfied with the shape of their nose due to a deviated septum and/or have breathing difficulties caused by it.

How is Septoplasty performed?

The procedure is performed through the nostrils, so there are no visible scars on the outside of the nose. It is done using general or local anesthesia.

Benefits of the procedure

Septoplasty corrects the deviated septum, allowing the patient to breathe better and, in some cases, correcting external nasal imperfections caused by the deviation.

F.A.Q.

This surgery is not intended to change the appearance of the nose, unless the deviated septum causes some abnormality in its appearance. However, it can be performed in conjunction with rhinoplasty, a procedure indicated for changing the appearance of the nose.
It is common to experience some difficulty in breathing during the recovery period, due to swelling and blood accumulation at the site of the incision. The patient should use a nasal splint for the first 10 days. In some cases, nasal packing may be necessary to control bleeding, and cold compresses can be applied to the face to reduce swelling.
