What is facial fat grafting?
Also known as fat grafting filling or fat transfer, it is a procedure that involves using the patient’s own fat to fill in areas of the face where volume is needed. It aims to soften expression lines, wrinkles, and provide rejuvenation by repositioning lost tissues due to aging or weight loss.
For whom is it indicated?
Facial fat grafting is recommended for people whose face shows signs of ageing, fatigue due to heavy weight loss, strenuous exercise or genetic reasons.
How is the facial fat grafting performed?
The procedure is performed by collecting localized fat from a specific area of the body through liposuction and processing the fat. It is then injected into the desired areas of the face to achieve a rejuvenated and naturally refreshed appearance.
Fat grafting typically takes around one hour and the patient may be discharged on the same day. It can be combined with other procedures such as facelift and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).

This procedure is usually associated with other surgeries, such as blepharoplasty and facelift. It is rarely proceded alone, as we also have fillers that we use in the office with very good results. The intention would be to combine the visit to the operating room for other reasons with the performance of facial fat grafting and rejuvenation without the need for hyaluronic acid fillers.
Swelling of the face in the first few days, mildly, which may or may not be accompanied by purpleness. In the region where the fat is removed, there are usually no alterations or complex dressing needs. 1 week is generally enough for recovery.
